Magic. To be moved by stories and to have imaginary people and places become reality. My studio museum explores this magic I’ve created and experienced in my life. I first explore London and how I felt drawn to it. My “This I Believe” piece is about how I really feel called to the culture and country of England. I then use the Low, Middle and High style to reflect on my time as a Disneyland Cast Member.

The “This I Believe” piece, titled “The Old Smoke”, is where I elaborate on stories placed in England that were very dear to me, and how I saw those came to life as I explored the city. It’s about finding myself in the same place I’ve been escaping to in literature, and how I’m determined to return for my own adventure.

My Low Style piece starts with the simply mechanics of working at Disneyland. It’s about how I was very practically empowered to create magical moments for people. My Middle Style piece moves to place the reader into the magical, and not so magical, experiences I had as a guest at Disneyland. The High Style piece is a tribute of sorts to the man who created not only Disneyland, but also the stories that inspired the amusement park, the one’s I grew up with.

I often write about my time in Disneyland, but never so critically. This gallery pushed me to really manipulate style while maintaining a similar subject matter. Each style forced a new perspective and a new look at my experiences.

Each page is another installment in the collection, accompanied by a related photo. I kept design elements the same across all pages (fonts &formatting), with access to navigation on all of them as well. I designed it to be simply and eye pleasing for the best ease of read. The gallery is best navigated in the order that it appears on the menu, but there is also freedom to hop around. Each page also includes style quotes on the bottom that connect to the content/style of the insallment. I title my collection, My Magical Reality. Each studio installment explores a very different perspective on the magic I have experience in my own reality.
